A friend recently had his home appraised and in the process discovered something troubling. Apparently his house which is in a rainy climate, not dissimilar to that of Miami, and also happens to be somewhat old had taken on more than a little bit of water over the years. Through small leaks in the sealing and small crevices in the walls moisture had built up for many years. Not only would this greatly decrease his asset’s price tag, it also made the home he was living in unsafe.

Luckily for most owners of REO properties much of what needs to be taken care of can be done while you are not staying in the home.
